As a former University of Chicago football player, who learned the power of our “fraternity of the gridiron” from the first Heisman trophy winner, Jay Berwanger, it is an honor to showcase a few game changer American physicians who are “metabolic coaches” of sports medicine and performance gains at national and international levels for the 2022 Football Green Book.
LSU’s pioneer of Neurological Hyperbaric Medicine, Professor Paul G. Harch, MD has nearly 4 decades of clinical acumen in developing brain injury recovery systems. He is akin to Amos Alonzo Stagg in the striking innovations he has produced in academic medicine. There are many who owe a debt of gratitude in our “fraternity of the gridiron” to the work of Dr. Harch for having developed the “forward pass” to rewind the clock on our brains.
Joe Namath, a “gridiron fraternity brother” of course, is the walking and talking embodiment of the miracle messaging network of Dr. Harch’s paradigm shifting research. CTE need not haunt our futures because Dr. Harch has developed the protocols to reverse both chronic and acute trauma related brain injury.
Dr. Harch and Nebraska Medicine Physician, Dr. Lon Keim have both had their respective research institutions in LSU and UNMC contemplate concussion research protocols going back to 1996-1997. As early as 2013, LSU Head Coach Les Miles was working with Dr. Harch and his colleagues in New Orleans in forging a clinical treatment pathway for acute concussion. Finally, my University of North Dakota faculty colleagues are doing formal research protocol in acute concussion therapy starting in 2022-2023.
I am here to tell you from coaches to administrators to athletes referencing the incredible Football Green Book, we don’t have to wait anymore for the performance improvements in our athletic and academic careers when we work directly with the physicians who are outstanding in the field, such as Dr. Paul G. Harch or my clinical partner in AeroNautiX Sports Medicine, Dr. Bradley R. Meyer.
Coming out of the pandemic and into the haunts of the Fighting Phantoms of the University of Okoboji, Doc Meyer and I have been getting top flight athletes and their families engaged in having their own mild hyperbaric chambers in homes across the north country from the Rockies to the Great Lakes so that they can accelerate healing of ankle sprains, AC joint separations, tennis elbow and even concussions on their own.
My family has been using our mild hyperbaric chamber for over 15 years to improve athletic and academic performance. Additionally, as one of our nation’s top academic radiologists reading CTs and MRIs all over the United States, I improve my performance on the Radar Screens of medicine before work each day with a 45 minute supercharged nap at 30% increased air pressure. This is the equivalent of living in the Rockies at 9,000 feet and jetting down to New Orleans and back in a “reverse altitude training” concept.
My children have aced college entrance exams and have been able to outperform their peers in both academic and athletic realms across their busy schedules with augmented performance through my “hyperbaric study hall” concept where they do their homework and study while healing ankle sprains, bumps and bruises all at the same time.
As an administrator at a US Medical School who has taught my students these concepts to better their career performance, I encourage the players, coaches and administrators to call either of my colleagues’ clinics today for a telemedicine/tele-education/telewellness consult. If you are a coach or administrator looking onto a mild hyperbaric “molecular strength training” program, please indicate that you would like to meet with me or Dr. Harch in regards to bringing mild hyperbarics into your University or High School athletic programs. Modern exercise equipment is not much different in cost and complexity than one of the many mild hyperbaric systems either of our clinics can provide with expert sports medicine and clinical expertise.
Change your altitude, change your attitude!
